US Veterans Office Teams Up With Full Sail University For Big Disabilities Event

It’s the buzz of the veterans’ world. The US Department of Veterans Affairs, the federal agency that provides healthcare services to US military veterans, has another new partnership coming this year. The latest partnership features Full Sail University, one of the country’s leading graduate and undergraduate degree-granting institution.

According to the recent press release, the two have teamed up for an educational collaboration effort, designed to showcase adaptive technology for people with disabilities. As part of the annual National Veterans Wheelchair Games, the two have announced the first-ever Greenlight Hall event, which scheduled to take place on the first week of August at the Orange County Convention Center, Florida.

As mentioned in the recent press release, the Greenlight Hall will feature a wide variety of interactive exhibits, courtesy of some US military veterans and technology companies. Additionally, the event will also include several technology demonstrations along with some product showcases. Full Sail University will be hosting this huge event.

The complete list of innovative technologies that will make 'a huge demo' in the Greenlight Hall event:
  • Microsoft Xbox Adaptive Controller, a specially-designed console controller for gamers with disabilities.
  • VA Virtual Medical Center, an interactive learning environment for patients and veterans.
  • DogHead Simulations, a VR-enabled collaboration technology for education and remote teams.
  • Maestro Games, an interactive and unique user experience through VR technology.
  • StackUP, which brings US veterans and civilian supporters together through VR technology.
  • PLW Modelworks, which provides the most accurate 3D urban data for a wide range of uses.
  • Simulation and Visualization Virtual Hang Glider Experience, a newly developed flight simulation technology.
In addition to hosting the huge Greenlight Hall event, Full Sail University has also contributed to this year’s National Veterans Wheelchair Games (NVWG) event. These include some event hosting and video content productions.

This is not the first time the US Department of Veterans Affairs has entered into a partnership with an organization or company. Last July, the US Veterans Affairs has signed a deal with a mobility startup, involving the supply of high-tech wheelchairs to the US Veterans Affairs Office.
